In order to provide efficient service for all users, the following technology procedures remain in effect:
- Each request for service must be made in writing using the attached form. Completion of all fields allows the technicians to track ongoing problems. All requests are to be forwarded to the building technology staff for the first level of review. (Sandman/Cafeteria – Ted Cawley; Maud Abrams – Karen Smith; Mitnick/CST – Sharon Spriggs; Memorial – Joann Sturm; Administrative Offices – Karen Allen. Note: CST issues involving the Contour software or access continue to be forwarded to Marge Carter.) Staff/Offices are not to contact the technicians directly. Additional forms will be available through the technology contact people or on the district webpage under the Technology Tab.
- Service will be scheduled by the building technology contact through Joann Sturm. Mrs. Sturm maintains a log of service requests and the response/resolution to each problem.
- Users are permitted to add software to their workstations only after the application has been approved through the Special Programs Office. The software installation must be conducted by the building technology staff member or a technician in order to avoid conflicts with preinstalled networking software and applications.
- No student may bring a diskette, CD, or software from home to be used on a district computer without prior approval.
- All users are expected to adhere to the Board Policy governing use of technology, as detailed in the Student-Parent and the Staff Handbooks. Inherent to this policy is the understanding that technology resources will be used in a responsible and efficient manner. Our budget has always been generous, but it is not unlimited. Conscientious and conservative use of supplies benefits all users.
Your cooperation is appreciated. These procedures help to ensure the security of our network and the availability of services and resources to all users. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact my office at x9480.
